Yes, Winter is Over

Your yard may look barren now, but outdoor temperatures are on the rise and it’s time to literally lay the ground work for spring. The weather will break so we are already working to get your yard in the best shape possible for your outdoor activities. Here’s a primer on what our crews will be focused on over the next few weeks.

  • Fertilizing. Many homeowners correctly understand that over-fertilizing can damage a lawn. But too little is not going to work either. Oriole has the expertise to fertilize your yard to maximum benefit.
  • Weed Control: Getting post and pre-emergents down on the turf prior to all the spring weeds taking off. Also helps build leaf density after the cold period for the grass has grown its roots into the soil.
  • Mulching: For optimal appearance and effectiveness we use a dyed brown double shredded premium mulch and install in appropriate depths. This helps eliminate weeds and keeps moisture in the beds for the plant roots to absorb
Of course, there is a lot more that we can do to prepare your yard ready for spring. We can create an annual and perennial plan that will infuse your yard with colonies of color and texture. Or we can recommend a focal point, such as a seating area, archway or prominent bed, that will imbue your yard with energy and style. There is no such thing as starting too early – with Virginia's premier landscaping company.
